"Save your money. In general, online programs provide 62% less efficiency than real graduate programs. The institution itself is very disorganized, they performed unscheduled 24-hour maintenance on Blackboard 5 times in one 10 week semester during the school week and don’t offer any deadline extensions. I withdrew halfway through the semester because I wasn’t learning anything and went to real college and the difference was huge. I was in the Public Health program and it was a joke."

"I have taken online classes at multiple schools and Walden is competitive with structure and demand. Personally, I love the brick and mortar school better because I can interact face-to-face with my peers and instructor. But my husband is in the military and we travel around the world. Online schools have been a blessing to me to finish my passion. Online learning is self-guided. You learn as much as you put into it. If you expect to sit and listen, you will not do well at any online school. The one thing I love at Walden is the support from the library and writing center. I have used the online chat many times to ask questions. I also watch webinars of information that have helped me learn and grow. Online worked for me and I learned quite a bit!"

"I found the Masters of Health Education and Promotion program through Walden University to be very eye-opening. The program did a great job of giving me the foundational tools and understanding about health education and ways in which to be an effective health educator in the field of public health. The program also provides students with an abundance of resources to utilize when trying figure out which branch of public health you would like to work within."

"Walden University makes it easy to start a MPH program. There is no GRE required and there are multiple start dates. The professors are professional and fair and I begin my Practicum experience next week! I'm sure my degree will help me in my future endeavors."

"I am currently a student at Walden University and I would recommend it for anyone to attend. Classes are online which requires a certain level of discipline to keep up with the deadlines. But the convenience of being online is quite rewarding. You can go anywhere and school comes with you. Students from all the world attend Walden which brings much diversity into the virtual classroom. The teachers are always available to answer questions via email (and they respond in a timely fashion). The coursework is academically stimulating in that it gives your brain a challenge. There are so many resources available to help you in your success at the university (The Writing Center, The Library, Academic Advising, Webinars on specific topics, etc.). If you're looking to have a flexible schedule while being school, I would definitely suggest looking into Walden University!"

"Walden University is an excellent place to earn your educational degree. I would recommend it to anyone who is interested an Online Education. I earned my M.P.H. from there in 2008, just earned my Post-Master's Psychology Certification, and enrolled in the Doctor of Public Health program. This school will get you ready for your chosen career field."

"Walden University is great for its convenience and schedule flexibility. However, there is zero financial aid assistance for continuing graduate students - only new, incoming students. This makes it difficult to continue the degree while currently in school, particularly when degree completion is required for career and salary advancement."

"Just an FYI Walden The school of Public Health is not CEPH accredited so that means the MPH and The PHD programs of health science does not have the specialized accreditation. There is no need to complain, they will blow you off. A lot of jobs will not accept applicants or allow you to train at the facility without it. If you are considering going to this school find another one who has the CEPH accreditation."

"This school only cares about making money off its student. Below par education for putting you in debt. Did not attempt to work with me and whenever I tried to reach anyone with the staff or faculty, always, and I mean always, goes to voicemail. I was never able to reach any staff or faculty when I tried calling them. Which is strange for a online degree program that is based on distance learning. But then again, all they care about is taking that money from you"

"Obtaining my Masters in Public Health at Walden University has been an excellent experience. The benefits of attending this fully on-line program include convenience of access to the educational system and access to well developed public health professionals. What I enjoy most about Walden's public health program is that my peers are a very diverse group who I learn from daily. This program is very military friendly. Being a spouse of an active duty Army service member stationed overseas education choices are limited. Walden affords me the opportunity to continue my higher education goals of becoming a public health professional while still supporting my family. I hope to use my education to help improve health care systems within the military community. The common complaint or con for on-line educational institutions seems to be a lack of community involvement. I feel very included at Walden University both as a student and professional."

"This school is a joke. It is a diploma mill and no real learning takes place at this institution. I learned the hard way, but I have transferred to a real school where i am working first on my MPH and then will consider my options for further graduate study. It should not be this easy to get a PhD. And because the school lacks important accreditation, the degrees they confer aren’t worth the paper they are printed on. Check with employers and search for the types of jobs you are interested in within your field and ask whether they consider a degree from Walden to be of any value. Many job postings that require an advanced degree contain a statement such as “degree must be from a school whose accreditation is recognized” by the employer. Most employers do not recognize degrees from Walden University and other for-profit “online” schools because they lack important accreditation and both the academic quality and rigor are much lower than most schools. Do not make the same mistake I did (I am now basically starting over at a real school after wasting a lot of time and money). DO NOT GO TO WALDEN UNIVERSITY!!!"
