"I just finished my summer quarter and heading into my final quarter at Walden before graduating. I have to say, I had a wonderful experience at Walden. First off, the counselor that supported me since day 1 is AMAZING. She calls to check in once a quarter to see my progress and discuss my courses. I had no issues with financial aid and all my money disbursed and I got refunded as well. The professors I worked with are extremely helpful and took time to help. They also left great critiques on my assignments and discussion posts that help me for future assignments. They graded all assignments and discussion posts on time. No issues at all. I'm even recommending the Bachelor's program to my husband as well since he works full time. I was able to almost complete my Masters while working a full time job, taking care of my daughter and my elderly mother, and being a devoting wife. It's possible with great time management, hard work, and patience. Thank you, Walden for an amazing experience. One more quarter to go and I will be a Masters Degree holder! :)"

"My experience at Walden has been horrible. I am a new student. Upon completion of necessary paperwork at the time, I started classes a week later. I am currently in my fourth week of a six week class. 14 days after the initial contact with class, students are to receive a disbursement of FA refunds. I never received my refund after that time. I received an email after I inquired about my disbursement to inform me that I had a hold on my account due to a missing official transcript. The very next day I sent my transcripts. My enrollment specialist said he never received the transcript. Then, I immediately called my prior university and they sent my transcripts a total of 2 more times. I called 3 and 3 times a day for 4 days to check on the status of my electronic transcript. Walden finally (claimed) they received the transcript. Now. I have to wait 24 hours for them to upload the transcript to my file, 3-5 business days until it is process, and an additional 14 for disbursement. This is ridiculous. I have never experienced this in all of my academic years of being at a institution for higher learner. I would not recommend this University to anyone, especially if you need your financial aid in a timely fashion."

"While some people may have reasons not to attend this university, I beg to differ. In order to succeed and accomplish anything, you have to put in the work! Although the work can be challenging this educational institution presents an opportunity for students to expand their scope of knowledge and challenge as well as raise questions regarding any concerns. Walden University offers it students a wealth of resources and staff is very supportive. Even if life gets in the way, there is always a resource to access and get help. Again, I cannot emphasize enough, you have to put in the WORK!"

"I enjoy being able to receive my master's degree online, while working full time. Weekly class engagement is required and there are assignments that require group collaboration. Through this, you are able to meet other working professionals. The work isn't rigorous, but you are able to gain skills to bring into the competitive job market."

"Walden University is a school for those that are self-motivated and disciplined in their approach to academics. The classes require scholarly writing and research, lots and lots of research. I would have to say that I am very happy and pleased with my experiences at Walden University thus far. I thought about giving up many times because I was constantly challenged and pushed beyond my limits while working full-time and taking care of my family. I have been spread very thin because I do not want anyone to feel neglected since I chose to further my education. However, I am a few classes away from earning my MASTERS DEGREE. This university is well-worth the investment in your education and future."

"If I had to make the choice of any school, I would choose Walden University all over again. They are a school believes in providing students with the education to make a social change globally. I will never have the regret of continuing my education at Walden, where they dedicate the time, concern, and energy to every student who have attended and graduated from their school."

"Ihad a wonderful experience at Walden University. I had started my degree plans with another school and later transferred to Walden. Most of my related credits were accepted and I was able to continue and obtain my degree. As with most schools, you get what you put in, and the professors were there to help every step of the way. I was very satisfied with Walden University and would recommend this school to anyone."

"I would like to say that Walden University is the best that I have attended. I am currently in school now to succeed in obtaining my second degree in Marriage, couple, and family counseling. Walden has staff/faculty who truly care about their students making a social change. After being enrolled two weeks, I received a follow-up call from the academic advisor to ensure that taking the courses were going well. The staff reach out anytime a student is in need. However, I know of several people who have attended Walden University a few times like myself. If anyone every have the opportunity to attend Walden it will be an experience that they will never regret. Every student should choose Walden, as you will be ensured the opportunity to make a social change in the world today."

"I enrolled in the summer. My current class I have is very difficult and I have really struggling. My online instructor makes cut and paste name comments on the DB. She has yet to give me full credit for ANY class work with no explanation. I reviewed the syllabus a couple days ago to find there are TWO prerequisite classes I never was offered. when i asked my advisor he said the prerequisite was only for those taking that topic in their masters they often just throw people in whatever and THESE people don't need (read deserve) the two classes this one is based on!!BS"

"This "school" is a joke. If you have any writing capabilities at all, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. If you want to actually get what you pay for, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. If you expect accountability of "professors" from school administration (I use the term loosely, because many of them got their doctoral degrees from equally poor online schools. Anyone can get a Doctorate these days, apparently), GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. One would expect at the graduate level of education, a student's ability to write in above-standard English, using scholarly (peer reviewed) sources, and demonstrating an attention to detail not found at the undergraduate level. And I suppose that expectation is held of students in higher-quality institutions; however, such is not the case at Walden. The administration does not provide oversight of their professors. If an instructor deducts points from a discussion post, there is no real feedback on how to improve--the only feedback received is failure against the rubric. If an instructor deducts points from an assignment, there is no correction within the submitted paper--again, only how you measured against the rubric, in terms of numbers. When I first started at this "school," the profs actually made comments within the papers, so students were able to garner specific feedback and improve on writing errors. Now, students make the same mistakes throughout their time at Walden, looking like morons "who is getting they masters degree." <---- that is a REAL example of the type of writing I've seen in discussion posts. ARE YOU WILLING TO PAY FOR THIS??? If you quit in the middle, which is something I'd looked into, not all of the credits transfer to other schools. Also, NONE of the credits transfer to collegiate universities (e.g., Colorado State, UPenn, Boston College); you can only transfer to other online-only schools that are accredited the same way that Walden is. Not all accreditation is equal, mind you-- online schools are in their own realm of accreditation, which is why credits won't transfer to traditional, reputable schools (whether brick and mortar or online). In six weeks, I will have a degree that really amounts to an expensive means of putting letters behind my name. Some of the classes were challenging, most were tedious. The texts are outdated (yes, they use TEXTS at the graduate level), as are the learning resources for the classes. For example, while Walden strongly recommends using current literature (within 5 years), the material they have you read for a class is at least 6 years old, or older (one class used articles from the 1980s). If you complain to administration about any of the issues that I've mentioned, you will get passed around from department to department, with no one taking ownership. For those of you who are slackers and just want an easy means to a "degree" (again, I use the term loosely), this is the school for you. In most classes, you will receive an A no matter how little you work. You will not be challenged to perform better, as the "professors" do the bare minimum to look like they are participating, and no higher rank oversees their neglect. Beware, though-- you may actually get a prof who cares about the influence that he/she has upon students, and holds them to a higher standard. Also, you may have to demonstrate your knowledge in the workplace. Your easy A will be of no use to you at that point, and your failing grammar skills will make moot the letters behind your name. Seriously, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE."

"The greatest pro of the graduate program at Walden University is having the flexibility to complete my education while also working full time. I am in my third year of enrollment with Walden University and have two additional classes to complete before I embark on the dissertation. The professors have been very interactive throughout the time that I have been enrolled at Walden University."
