"Davis is a really great place to study! I really enjoy the small town feel, it makes studying law much less stressful. However, the surrounding cities are not that great. You have to drive about 1-1/2 hours to get to Napa or SF. But I would recommend it to many! Also housing is very cheap and relatively new."

"I found my department to be unsupportive for the women in my year (2 of 7 have dropped out, 3 others may be forced out) and ineffective in dealing with harassment. The surrounding area, the small town, is very peaceful and beautiful."

"Choosing the Ecology Graduate Group at UCDavis was the best decision I've ever made. Wonderful community, brilliant and fun peers, big deal faculty who love to talk to students over coffee. Davis itself if a really great place to live with the farmer's market, bikes galore, and lots of community events. The GGE in particular has a propensity for outrageous costume parties right when you need a break from work."

"Davis is a good school. One of the main problems with it is that graduate students are not paid enough to survive in Davis without either taking out loans or barely scraping by."
