"My experiences at the University of South Florida have been nothing short of amazing! Many people tend to overlook USF when they think about Florida universities, but this is such a major mistake! Every professor I had at USF was extremely passionate about seeing their students succeed. I was very well prepared for a position in medical school to pursue my dream of becoming a physician. Also, USF prides itself on student diversity, with a greater understanding of global ethnic diversity and tolerance; there are a number of outreach and inclusion initiatives carried out by the university in the community. In addition, USF was recently given $45 million from the state of Florida for student success, with the total funding during 2017 adding up to an impressive $520 million. This extra funding means even more open doors for students when it comes to learning and extracurricular activities. I love that USF is a microcosm of the world, with students from all over the world. I was exposed to many unique perspectives that enhanced my learning throughout college. Also, USF provides many resources to students of diverse interests; in my case, I had access to laboratory experience through Alzheimer's research on campus, a two major hospitals flanking USF's borders and one of the top cancer treatment centers in the country. Not to mention, Tampa is an incredibly fun and diverse city! There is never a shortage of events and fun to get away from academics! We have four professional athletic teams, breathtaking beaches, Gasparilla, unique stores and amazing food! The opportunities are endless at USF, and the community at USF is dedicated to seeing students succeed. GO BULLS!"

"USF is a good school. It prepared me to pursue my dreams. The quality of Ibstruction and instructors are excellent. I took classes on campus and thoroughly enjoyed the on campus experience. If I still lived in Tampa Bay I would return to USF . I'm currently waiting to start classes at CSU Global. So far this has also been a great experience. I look forward to pursuing a Masters in Teaching and Learning."

"The University of South Florida has been such a significant part of my life, as well as the lives of several of my family members. USF provided many options for me to meet new people, explore new cultures, and even learn a new language, all while earning my undergraduate degree in Biomedical Sciences. Between my education, the friends I have made, and the values I have developed, I believe it has given me the perfect base to start medical school in the fall."

"USF was not my first choice on the lists of colleges for my undergraduate studies, but I was pleasantly surprised. The campus is beautiful, the diversity there is unmatched. The university's work study program allowed me to study while working flexible hours and the university staff you work with are amazing."

"The campus is really nice. The choices for food on campus were great. The whole school is very technologically in tune with what's going on. All of my lectures were video/audio recorded and made available online to help with studying."

"As an out of state student going through the School of Public, it was difficult to make friends. Part of that I think was due to my program, living 30 minutes away my first year, and not having grown up in Tampa. However, I loved the health education program and would often go to the undergrad library for studying, writing papers, and drinking coffee!"

"The School Psychology graduate program at the University of South Florida stands out amongst other universities with a long-standing reputation of establishing knowledgable leaders within the educational community. Students who graduate from the program are well-prepared to serve within schools, behavioral health clinics, and private settings to support children and adolescents to be successful both academically and behaviorally. The talented and diverse faculty are among the most innovative and recognized individuals within the field and actively support the educational pursuits of their students. I know that the faculty and experiences I have had within the program have prepared me to be a quality professional within the school psychology field and educational community."

"This program is intended for Pre-Health professions students, who wish to pursue either Medical or Nursing School. ( others such as Dental and PhD programs also would benefit). The curriculum is taught by world class faculty who also instruct the first year medical students, and courses consist of similar content as the MD program. The faculty is beyond helpful, and the material is invaluable for future studies. Program can be completed in one year."

"The University of South Florida changed my life personally, professionally, and academically. With the multiple clubs offered by the school, I met life long friends, people to network with, and personal clients for my real estate business. Professionally, USF gave me the tools to succeed in the workplace, as well as interview and resume tips. Academically, when attaining my degree, the counselors and administration at USF were always professional and passionate. With their help, I was able to find the right degree for me."

"I love USF. The campus is growing and there are so many activities to get involved. I enjoyed my courses in History, and liked that I could choose the topics that I wanted to study, With more hindsight, I would have placed more time in my math courses, but overall I am so happy I earned my BA at USF!"

"I really love the Speech-Language Pathology Master's program at USF Main Campus. The academic and clinical faculty are helpful, kind, and understanding, but challenge you to be the best student and clinician you can be. Completing clinical rotations in the same building where all of our classes were is convenient and helps to foster close relationships with your cohort. Go Bulls!"

"The program director has been extremely communicative and helpful. She has been willing to fully explain answers to questions I have had during the course of the program. The program is hands-on with a practicum aspect that prepares students for jobs evaluating programs or companies upon graduation. The certificate also counts as a project management degree which also open professional opportunities for my career."

"The University of South Florida is different from many schools in Florida because it is not your typical college town. I have been given many opportunities to network, grow and succeed because of this university. I can't wait to continue my graduate education at the same university!"

"The Masters of Medical Sciences Program at the University of South Florida is one of the only programs of its type in the state of Florida. It offers pre-health students a second chance to pursue a career in health. The level of instruction provided mimics that of the first two years of medical school - students learn everything from biochemistry and genetics to physiology and pathology. Yes, the classes are rigorous and as graduate students you are expected to dedicate more effort than in undergraduate classes but the program is designed for your success. The professors are knowledgeable and approachable, and the program provides many resources to help you achieve your goal of medicine with medical school admissions committee visits and helpful advisers. USF is also located in Tampa, Florida, where students have access to numerous hospitals, health centers, and volunteering opportunities. The possibilities are endless."

"The MACJA program at USF is a great program for future administrators within the law enforcement community. It personally did not impact my career because I choose a different path after graduation; however, it did provide me great insight for my profession. This program assisted me greatly with researching, developing and implementing effective change within my agency."

"The Exercise Science master's program at USF is very well suited toward those who aspire to learn more about exercise physiology and those who wish to secure a career in strength and conditioning. The program itself is ripe with opportunity to engage with community in the form of internships. Whether you wish to work in corporate wellness, professional sports, or even own your own health/fitness brand, the connections are available for you to propel your career forward. I highly recommend this program to those considering a degree in exercise science."

  • Degree: Mathematics
"Seeking a bachelor;s degree in Mathematics at the University of South Florida is a little tough. Majority of the people who are math majors are doubling with either physics or engineering and the subject itself is predominantly male. The headquarters where most of the math classes are taken is in one of the oldest and most run-down buildings on campus. The University is very research heavy but mostly in the realm of science and it is very well shown. Recently the math department was without an academic advisor for 5 months. Besides this, the math classes are very rigorous however I believe that the professors are experts in the field in which they teach but are not teachers. A lot of the classes are curved so that students may pass and that is not the definition of a teacher to me. But Go Bulls!"
